But this theology is not for the oppressed. The oppressed do not need a threat of damnation to respond in faithfulness. They are already experiencing a form of hell, and they long for liberation. Jesus saves them from their present suffering and promises them a future without suffering.
This is far different than the theology that threatens suffering to compel faithfulness.
