I do not think we should post on social media every headline of ignorant hate filled stories of people using the garment of religion to promote oppression. I think we are doing more damage when we become an accidental PR person for these articles, blogs and foolish stories. Real people are traumatized when we repost stories of hateful person number 1 who said “God sent a hurricane because…” of this or 9-11 was “God’s judgement because of…” X Group.
Let’s silence hate by not being the unofficial promoter of hateful rhetoric. We say these people promote ideas Jesus disavowed … well if that is the case leave it off your timeline and stop giving time to these hate mongers and bloggers who want traffic on their pitiful sites.
